BIOGRAPHY
Carolyn A. Ross, DCC, Registered Psychotherapist, CRPO
Carolyn Ross believes that life is a journey, and when it comes to her clients, she views herself as a partner—walking with them on their individual paths as they reach one milestone at a time.
Holding the designation of Registered Psychotherapist with both the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP), Carolyn has been in private practice since 2000. She supports individuals, couples, children and families experiencing emotional and behavioural challenges, grief, relationship difficulties, and family breakdown. Carolyn applies mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with compassion, empathy and creativity.
With a specific interest in trauma and PTSD—especially among first responders—she has helped clients regain balance and even joy where there was once darkness and hopelessness.
In her counselling and psychotherapy practice in Durham Region, Carolyn is part of a care team that includes a registered psychologist and/or a registered psychological associate, both of whom are members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Together, they are making a meaningful impact in the lives of clients with varying needs.
Carolyn holds a doctoral degree in Christian counselling (psychology/theology) from Canada Christian College. Her experience also includes several years as a professor in the psychology department at Canada Christian College. A leader in her field, Carolyn has spoken at many conferences across the province, been a guest on the TV show 100 Huntley Street, and served as host of Night Light Live, both on the Christian Television Network (CTS). Eager to share her passion for helping others, she is adding “published author” to her list of accomplishments as she completes her book on anger management.
In addition to her work with clients, speaking engagements and media appearances, Carolyn volunteers as a board member of the Ontario Society for Adlerian Psychology and serves as a chaplain with the Rouge Valley Health System.

People start to heal the moment they feel heard.
